A solid hunting knife with upscale material was personalized using a heirloom gem from my customers family. The gem is a deep blue sapphire set into a gold bezel. It was inlayed into the mammoth ivory to just slightly sit under the surface. This hunter is basically a similar profile I carry myself. This profile is extremely efficient to use and lets you accomplish many tasks with easy. The knife is a full tang construction, with hidden pins securing the bolster. This construction does not distort the appearance of the damascus and it is sound. The steel pins have been gun blued to go with the overall color scheme of the materials chosen to flow with the rustic appearance of the mammoth ivory. All areas between the mammoth ivory and metal surfaces have been slightly rounded over, this prevents any sharp edges to be present, should the ivory shrink. The sheath itself is a 4 layer construction, the inside layer against the blade is Ultra Suede TM, which wicks any moisture away from the CPM S30V blade. The primary sheath is 6 oz cow hide overlaid with a seal leather inlayed with salmon skin. The fob is a also salmon leather and has an antique glass trade bead incorporated.
